This project is for the Spring 2026 Digital Foundations II class, where our task was to take our logo from the previous part of the assignment and use it in physical media. Particularly, take the logo and use it in a poster and business card. Here is the logo I made, for reference.

For a poster, I wanted to continue with the theme of abstraction, using elements in the advertising that aren’t directly what the company would be doing. I wanted to present it in a minimalist format, taking viewers on a story which presents the brand as something more than it would seem on the surface. For this, I turned to Apple’s iconic vintage adverts. I also kept with the Apollo 13 Lithium Hydroxide Canister story.

The poster is meant to be read from the top down. At the top you see the image of the Apollo 13 spacecraft, isolated in space. Underneath in smaller text, you have the context for what this is and why it matters. Then I placed the image of the machine made to solve the crisis onboard. Then we have more text explaining such. We then see a slogan, once again in enlarged text. “When you want it to work, Go with Kludge.” The enlarged text at the top and bottom captures your attention, making it quicker to parse on subsequent viewings. We then finish with the Kludge logo and wordmark, perched above the earth.

The next thing we needed to design was a business card. The design is simpler here, taking the Kludge logo and placing it in the four corners. White bars break up the navy, with the cardholder information within. The full logo with the wordmark is then placed to the right in a vertical reading position, followed by a QR code which takes you to further information online.
